The Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone
The Partners In Health- supported project our network is fundraising for this year is the Maternal Center of Excellence in the Koidu District of Sierra Leone. This is a medical school in Rwanda that aims to teach their students not just medicine, but also leadership in global health. This project especially exemplifies PIH's system-building philosophy in its creation of the next generation of global health leaders who will work on behalf of the Global South. This project is also unique in that we are not raising money to save people, rather we are sending resources to people to help them save their own. On top of this, these will be doctors to learn from as we navigate this post-pandemic world of global health.
