Eradicate Tuberculosis
The Partners In Health project our network is fundraising for this year is eradicating tuberculosis, specifically multi-drug resistant TB. PIH has fought for more than two decades to treat and prevent TB in vulnerable communities in the world. Historically, standard tuberculosis treatments lasted up to two years and included painful daily injections and drugs, that have harmful side effects. Partners in Health, though the endTB project works to provide aliment for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis(MDR-TB) in the form of painless oral medication. There is a 77 percent cure rate of MDR-TB due to PIH' s intensive drug trials.
All chapter fundraisers this campaign season go to eliminating tuberculosis.
