Book Cover

For this Typography assignment where we had free creative control over what book/ poem we chose and what type of book cover it would have. I chose "Theme for English B" by Langston Hughes. this poem is one that resonates with me and extremely visceral as well. I can't help but imagine what 1920s Harlem looked like when I read it. I definitely could not begin to relate to being a young African American man enrolled at a predominately white university. I love how the whole poem is just Langston being able to outsmart his professor and make it seem like he wasted his time when in reality, he wrote something very profound and introspective.
