Welcome!
I am Vice President of Engineering and Applied Science (AI) at TomTom, where I lead the product unit responsible for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS), and the creation of High-Definition (HD) maps across the entire organization. With a relentless commitment to innovation and technological advancement, my team and I are at the forefront of shaping the future of automotive safety, autonomy, and navigation. Our work not only drives the evolution of intelligent transportation systems but also underscores TomTom's dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions that redefine the automotive industry.
I am also an AI Adjunct professor in the department of mathematics and computer science at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Together with Elahe Arani, I co-direct the NeurAI Lab, which develops Neuro-Inspired AI models capable of learning efficiently from multiple tasks. The primary goal of the lab is to conduct fundamental research in deep learning, which is inspired by how the brain works and learns, with a focus on continual learning, self-supervised learning, and meta-learning.
