We are a Christian, local, Non-Governmental organization dedicated to working with children, youths, families and their communities to address the root causes of poverty. We recognize early adulthood is a formative time. We understand the church can lead holistic transformation. We know families and community are key to sustainable transformation.
since we got to BAHO, life has changed and now we can laugh.
in the past we lived without hope for the future
Thank you to everyone who continues to help us
May God bless you all with a helping heart.
when God says so live
you live
we never knew we would be happy again
we are very thankful to God
I used to sleep on the dirt roads but now life has changed and I still have a good life and I go back to school with the hope that my life will continue to be improve and thank God for it.
We used to live on the streets drinking and smoking, but as BAHO continued to talk to us about training how can i stop being a drug addict and become a future entrepreneur
, it took us a long time to create a haircut that changed our lives
Our sector:
We are a child focused organization

OUR STRATEGIC AIMS
Our strategy is on child rights, self reliant youth, strong families and empowered churches.
We are child focused
BAHO Burundi is child-centered, recognising children are extremely vulnerable as they are entirely dependent on their parents or guardians and community to meet their needs and realise their rights. When child rights are violated the consequences are often detrimental and life long
We recognize early adulthood is a formative time
Adolescence and early adulthood set the foundations of life not only for the individual but also for their future children and spouse. Engaging youths early in vocational training can significantly improve their chances of finding sustainable livelihoods. Awareness of sexual health issues and civic responsibilities ensures that they protect their own health and the health of others and participate in community life.
We know families & community are key to sustainable transformation
BAHO takes a whole of family approach, understanding that sustainable and truly transformational change only happens when mothers, fathers, families and communities are united. When women and men are equals, when families recognize the different needs of each member, when communities are joined in reaching common goals.
We understand the Church can lead holistic transformation
As a faith-based organisation BAHO’s recognises the influence and potential of the Church for not only spiritual but economic, social and political transformation of communities, families and individuals.
As a faith-based organization BAHO’s recognises the influence and potential of the Church for not only spiritual but economic, social and political transformation of communities, families and individuals. We also believe in the power of prayer because prayer connects us to God.
We bring vulnerable people together, uniting communities in common goals to cultivate peace and harmony. This is the hallmark of our approach. Self-Groups provide a solid foundation to deliver other programs tailored to specific needs.
Core elements of the self-help group approach are developing a savings culture, awareness raising on issues such as HIV and gender based violence, and growing and diversifying income sources.
We are trying to find a way for the homeless to get it .
Nowdays, we have been able to accommodate about 80 houses for the poor and we have built churches in the village
so that the worshipers outside and in the grass houses can also be rehabilitated because when it rains it is very difficult for them now we have asked to build five small temples. more and more we call on everyone who has a heart to help so that you too can help us to do the great work we have been given and to thank all those who have helped us for the past that we have built in the past and may God continue to bless them.
Building houses for the poor and widows and orphans
FULLY REALIZING CHILD-RIGHTS;
DEVELOPING SELF-RELIANT YOUTHS;
EMPOWERING THE CHURCH, AND
BUILDING STRONG FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES.
