Mount Vernon is planning to encourage multiple activities leading up to the Bicentenary of the Birth of the Báb in October 2019.
The Báb ("the Gate", 1819-1850) was an independent Manifestation of God Who founded the Bábí religion. He was also and most importantly, the Forerunner of Bahá'u'lláh, the Divine Messenger of the Bahá'í Faith.
The Bahá'í community will commemorate the holy day of the Báb's birth from sunset on October 28 through sunset October 29.
Devotions in several homes will introduce the life, teachings, and revelation of the Báb.
Watch The Gate: The Dawn of the Baha'i Faith on Amazon Prime. This documentary tells the story of the Báb and the early days of the Bahá'í Faith.
5:00-8:00 p.m.
A simple dinner will be served, followed by explanation about the Báb's significance, a brief devotional program, storytelling, and commitment to transform ourselves and our community.
