We are, because they were!
Welcome to a transformative space dedicated to African/Black feminist scholarship, activism, and community leadership.
In a world marked by polycrises, systemic violence, and spiritual dislocation, this conference reclaims leadership as a practice rooted in healing, restoration, and collective liberation. Drawing on ancestral wisdom and Indigenous knowledge, we center African/Black feminist and womanist praxis as vital frameworks for reimagining leadership beyond domination.
This is leadership grounded in:
Restoration and healing from colonisation and systemic violence
Political and gender justice through grassroots movements
Spirituality and relationality as tools for transformation
Community resistance and collective activism
We invite scholars, activists, artists, and change-makers to contribute to this vital conversation. Whether you're exploring restoration and healing, justice and liberation, or spirituality and community organizing, your voice matters.
