Psychiatric Evaluation
A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive, thorough assessment that takes place during your first session with Dr. Baek.
Whether you have seen a psychiatrist in the past or this is your first encounter, Dr. Baek provides a complete evaluation for each new patient. A good initial assessment by an expert is crucial to good psychiatric care.
Psychopharmacology
Perhaps you are looking to start a medication, come off a medication, or explore alternatives. Dr. Baek is trained in medication management and will work with you to come up with a treatment plan that is both effective and individualized.
Psychotherapy
As medical doctors, psychiatrists are unique in that they are trained in the medical sciences along with psychology and psychotherapy. Psychiatrist are both doctor and therapist. Dr. Baek provides psychotherapy.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
TMS uses a targeted magnetic field to stimulate areas of the brain that control mood and are thought to be underactive in people with depression and anxiety.
qEEG assessment
EEG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) is a diagnostic tool that measures electrical activity through the surface of the head in the form of brain wave patterns. Quantitative EEG (QEEG) analyses and interprets these patterns, converting them into maps of brain function, which is why the process is sometimes known as “brain mapping.”
