Below is what is included inside of basic parade drill:
Falling out, saluting, right dress, open order march, height order, explaining what right marker is, getting into lines, formation.
Below is all of the drill that you should be expected to know during a parade, inspection or any type of event that requires some seriousness from our staff. Failure to know any of the drill could lead to sanctions or at worst Dishonourable discharge from the british army and all it's regiments.
Front salute is where your face will be aimed forwards and your right arm will go up to your beret. You hold it there 2 seconds and then drop it. Remember these timings for later in parades. You can remember them by saying to yourself. Up, 2, 3, Down. When saluting at a general or High Rank you will salute they will salute back and then you both drop it. Saluting for more than 3 seconds will make you look unprofessional.
Instructor Command:
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) SALUTING TO THE FRONT, TO THE FRONT, SALUTE!
Right dress is where the front row sticks up their right arm and for the people on the far right would stick their right arm up forward to touch the person's shoulder in front. The rest of the people that don't have their arms up will tilt their head to the right. The right marker which is located in the top right corner does nothing, except for look forward and act as a guide to get everyone aligned.
Instructor Command:
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) RIGHT DRESS!
Open order march is where the back takes 2 paces away from the middle row and the front row takes 2 paces forward from the front row. After the command has been said you should be lined up with the rest of your row. This allows for easier inspections since you the inspector can move around in between the rows more easily.
Instructor Command:
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) OPEN ORDER, MARCH!
Height order is where after the command is yelled everyone does a right incline and then marches round and gets in a straight singular line in your height order. Normally after this command is done the next command would be Numbering. The Right Marker will always be on the far right. To get your height you just go in a random place as long as its to the left of the right marker.
Instructor Command:
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) TALLEST ON THE RIGHT, SHORTEST ON THE LEFT, IN A SINGLE RANK, SIZE!
Numbering is done after you are in height order. Once the command is said everyone will yell their number after one another. Like if the person to your right is number 1 you would be number 2 and would say "2!" in chat.
Instructor Command:
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) FROM THE RIGHT, NUMBER!
After you have done numbering your instructor will yell a command. Odd numbers will take 2 paces forward and should be in line with each other. Even numbers stay behind.
Instructor Command:
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) ODD NUMBERS, 2 PACES, FORWARDS, MARCH!
This part involved three phases, Phase 1 is the instructor yells the Phase 1 command the people who are odd numbers will turn right and the people who are even numbers will turn left. Phase 2 is when the instructor yells the phase 2 command, you will march into lines of three shown in the image below, when there are three people in a line and they are facing to the left of the instructor they will both turn at the same time.
Instructor Command (Phase 1):
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) 1 STAND FAST, RANKS RIGHT AND LEFT, TURN!
Instructor Command (Phase 2):
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) QUICK, MARCH!
Right marker is the person who is the tallest in the roleplay. When you are in a line on the back wall or not on parade your instructor would call out one of your usernames. You will respond with "Sir / Ma'am / Staff, Confirmed". When the instructor yells the command below the right market takes one pace forward then marches so that they are 2 paces infront of your instructor.
Instructor Command:
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT) RIGHT, MARKER!
When falling out you will begin after the command below is said by your instructor. You will do a right incline and salute to the front. Count to 2 in your head and then drop the salute. Your instructor will then say "Thank you" and then you take 5 paces forwards before halting and then you are dismissed. Remember your timings. There are no timings for turnings and only for salute.
Instructor Command:
(DETAIL, SQUAD, FLIGHT), OFFICER ON PARADE, DIS-, MISS!
Phase 1, Command is said
Phase 2, Everyone does a Right Incline
Phase 3, Everyone salutes to the front
Phase 4, Everyone drops their salute
Phase 5, Everyone marches off.
