Welcome!! 

My name is Rohn Ratliff and I love to paint models for miniature wargaming and all sorts of other hobbies.  Ever since I was a child I’ve loved to play games and at a young age was introduced to Dungeons and Dragons.  Now as an adult I’ve branched out into many more types of games and have found a love of painting my armies for Warhammer 40K, historical American Civil Wargaming, and model ships and airplanes. 

Badlands painting Studio started the summer of 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  During the lockdown after I helped my children with their school work and I finished my teaching responsibilities I would spend the time assembling and painting my plastic “pile-of-shame”.  It was during this time I got interested in American Civil Wargaming and purchased my first 15mm pewter models.  After sharing pictures of my models on some Facebook ACW pages several commented wanting to know the painting process.  That’s when I made some of my first videos.  Since then I’ve branched out to other game models and have kept myself busy painting, even painting several commissioned projects for customers in my area.

With this site I hope to share my love of painting, offer to help others get their models painted, and maybe hopefully even inspire others to pursue panting as a hobby and way of relaxing.
