BBL-36 Scoring Rules:

To incentivize a faster game experience for the players and to reflect the “Blitz” nature of the league, the following rules will continue to apply to all group stage matches in BBL-36:

Scoring Adjustments Based on Speed of Play (calculated as the difference between Game End Date and Game Start Date, captured on the ZE platform):

• Game completed in < 2 days: Extra 0.2 pt. added to both players

• Game completed between 2-5 days: Extra 0.1 pt. added to both players

• Game completed between 6-10 days: Regular scoring applies

• Game completed between 11-14 days: 0.1 pt. deducted from both players

• Game completed after 14 days: 0.2 pt. deducted from both players

All group stage games must be initiated (started on the platform) within 5 days of group seeding.

• Games not started within 5 days will incur a 0.1-pt penalty per day for both players. Players who failed to start 3 or more games within 5 days without timely notifying the host are automatically disqualified, and their results are nullified. 

• The host will have the right to remove the penalties upon advance notice of a necessary delay (life circumstances) or documented unsuccessful attempts to challenge the opponent within the 5-day threshold.
