Group Stage Scoring Rules:

To incentivize a faster game experience for the players and to reflect the “Blitz” nature of the league, the following rules will apply to all group stage matches:

Scoring Adjustments Based on Speed of Play (calculated as the difference between Game End Date, captured on the ZE platform and Tournament Start Date):

• Game completed in < 3 days: Extra 0.2 pt. added to both players

• Game completed between 3-5 days: Extra 0.1 pt. added to both players

• Game completed between 6-10 days: Regular scoring applies

• Game completed between 11-13 days: 0.1 pt. deducted from both players

• Game completed after 13 days: 0.2 pt. deducted from both players

All group stage games must be initiated (started on the platform) within 5 days of group seeding.

• Games not started within 5 days will incur a 0.1-pt penalty per day for both players. Players who fail to start 3 or more games within 5 days without timely notifying the host are automatically disqualified, and their results are nullified. 

• The host will have the right to remove the penalties upon advance notice of a necessary delay (life circumstances) or documented unsuccessful attempts to challenge the opponent within the 5-day threshold.

• The host will have the right to call the game result if a game is not finished after 15 days from the start of the tournament. A written note about the ruling will be sent to each player in the delayed game.
