BabyView: Understanding Infant Experience Through Egocentric Data
This workshop brings together researchers from Stanford University's BabyView team and the Chosun University BabyView-K initiative for a hands-on introduction to the methods and tools developed through the BabyView project. Designed to support the launch of BabyView-K, the event will provide practical guidance on equipment assembly, participant onboarding, data management, and best practices for working with infant-centered egocentric video data.
The morning Science Session will feature talks showcasing recent findings based on egocentric video corpora, with a focus on how such data can be used to model infant cognition, language input, and learning in real-world environments.
The afternoon Methodology Session will focus on the practical components of data collection and infrastructure, including device setup, participant recruitment, ethical considerations, and hands-on data handling.
This event aims to foster long-term collaboration and establish a shared foundation for data quality and interoperability between BabyView (Stanford), BabyView-Korea, and the global developmental science community. The workshop is especially relevant for developmental scientists, computational modelers, and researchers studying early cognitive and linguistic development from a data-rich, real-world perspective.
