OVERVIEW
Baby Prep: Newborn Checklist & Budget ("Baby Prep") does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. The app helps you plan baby supplies by week before a due date and track what you bought, received, or borrowed and what it cost. Your plan is kept in the app's storage on your device. The app also uses Google services for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
REMINDERS, FILES, AND SHARING
Reminders: weekly reminders are off in a new plan. The app asks for notification permission only when you turn reminders on with the "Weekly preparation reminders" button on the Plan settings sheet. Reminders are scheduled on your device for 9:00 local time and show the preparation week and how many items are still needed (not item names); they may appear on your lock screen. If you decline, the plan keeps working without reminders. Turning reminders off cancels the app's scheduled reminders.
Saved files: on the Settings & files sheet (menu, "Backup / partner exchange") you can save a gift list (text, PDF, or image) that lists the items still needed and their quantities, including item names you typed. You can also save a multipart backup, which contains your whole current plan (due date, currency, preset choices, categories, items, received entries with amounts paid, and deletion records). If saved data cannot be read, you can save a raw recovery file that contains the stored plan text. These files are written to an "exports" folder in the app's documents storage; each save creates a new set, and earlier sets are kept until you delete them. Saved files are copies: later changes to your plan, including deleting an item, do not change files already saved. A save that is interrupted can leave an incomplete set that is not listed; when the app starts, it removes older incomplete sets and keeps the three newest. To create a PDF or image, the app first makes a temporary copy in a cache folder and normally deletes it after saving; a copy that could not be deleted may remain in the cache until the cache or the app's data is cleared, although the app removes some older leftover copies when it starts.
Import: to merge a backup, you choose the manifest and parts in the system file picker; no storage permission is needed and the app reads only the files you pick. The picked files are copied into the app's cache and into an "imports" folder in the app's documents storage; after reading them the app normally deletes these copies, and then shows a preview before merging. If an import is interrupted, the copy in the "imports" folder is removed the next time the app starts, but a copy in the cache may remain until the cache is cleared.
Sharing: "Share saved file" passes the file to the system share sheet, and the app or person you choose receives it. The app does not upload your plan or files to the developer or to any analytics or advertising service.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The app keeps one plan document containing your due date, plan currency, climate, season, and feeding preset, your categories (including names you create), items (name, category, target quantity, needed week, planned unit price, and whether skipped), received entries for each item (quantity, bought/gifted/borrowed, new/secondhand, amount paid), and deletion records (an internal ID and time, without the name) so that merged backups do not bring deleted items back. When you set up a plan, the app suggests a currency from your device's language and region settings.
The app may also store basic operating information such as cached advertising settings and a cached More Apps list.
The developer does not run a server that receives your plan. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and a More Apps list from Google Cloud Firestore, but it does not write to Firestore. The More Apps list loads app icons from internet addresses in that list.
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as app launches, the splash screen view, a splash ad display, menu actions (review and More Apps), ad revenue events (ad format, value, currency, precision), app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. Event parameters do not include your due date, item or category names, quantities, or amounts.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob: an app-open ad when the app starts or when you return to it, an interstitial ad that may follow some completed actions (tapping "Finish purchase session" or saving a gift list), a banner ad, and a native ad in the exit dialog. Banner ads are shown only on the All items tab. Google may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location.
PERMISSIONS AND ADVERTISING CHOICES
Feature permissions: notifications, only if you turn on reminders. The app also uses vibration (a permission Android grants without asking) for short haptic feedback, for example when a change is saved or you tap "Got it". The app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, photo, or storage access; for import it reads only the files you pick in the system file picker.
At launch, Google's consent message (UMP) is shown where required (for example in the EEA and UK). If Google's consent step completes and does not allow ads to be requested, the app does not request ads. Personalized ads are requested only when consent is not required or your choice allows personalized advertising; otherwise ads are non-personalized. If the consent step fails (the consent information, the consent message, or your saved choice cannot be loaded), the app requests non-personalized ads only.
Where Google requires it, the app menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your choice. If that message cannot be shown, the app stops requesting ads until your choice is updated successfully or the app is next started. You can change notification permission in Android settings at any time.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
In the item editor you can delete an item (it is removed and a deletion record is kept) or remove a received entry and then save. On the Organize categories sheet you can delete a category; its items and subcategories are moved to another category, not deleted. In the Saved files list you can delete a saved file after confirming; deleting any file of a multipart backup removes that whole backup set. The app has no button to delete the whole plan, incomplete saves, or leftover cache copies; clearing the app's data in Android settings or uninstalling removes them along with the rest of the app's storage. Files you shared, or saved elsewhere through the share sheet, are controlled by the app or person that received them.
Local data, including saved files, may be included in a Google or device backup depending on your backup settings (the app allows Android system backup). Uninstalling normally removes the active copy but may not remove an older backup.
Because we do not receive your plan, we cannot delete it for you; the controls above remove data from the app. For questions about data processed by Google, or to ask us for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below.
We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy. Data processed by Google is retained according to its service settings and policies:

- Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

SECURITY
Your plan and saved files are kept in the app's private storage, which the operating system protects from other apps; they are not separately encrypted by the app, and backup files carry a checksum that detects damage but not tampering. Protect your device with a screen lock. Apart from the limited analytics events described above, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Baby Prep gives practical shopping suggestions, not medical advice. Week numbers and due-date counts are calendar estimates, and suggested items and quantities are general and may not suit your situation. Follow professional guidance and product safety instructions for feeding, sleep, bathing, travel, and recovery. Budget figures use one currency without conversion and are only as accurate as the amounts you enter.
CHILDREN
The app is a planning tool for adult parents and carers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
