I played a single lullaby track to get my baby to sleep for a whole year on spotify and now all my playlists (that I used to depend on for finding new music!) like release radar and discover weekly are completely ruined with baby music and lullabies. It didn't happen instantly of course, but by the time I had realised what I had done it was too late. Is there any way to reverse this? Can Spotify remove a single track from my listening history so it stop affecting the algorithms? I've used spotify for years and have years of playlists built up so I don't want to have to shut down my account etc...

Going forward, the best way to stop baby music and lullabies from influencing your music recommendations is by turning on Private Session when you play them for your infant. Alternatively, you could try Spotify Kids, which you can read about here.

I spent ten years playing music by night and studying music therapy and clinical psychology by day. When I had a baby everything changed. Slowly, all of my efforts and talents culminated into one project that felt right.

During my studies in clinical psychology, I was taken by a class taught by Arietta Slade on different types of bonds a baby has to his/her mother. During that time, I had a baby at home the exact age of those being discussed; the material from class was bound to hit me in a personal way. We learned about what a parent can do to give the baby a feeling of security and protection, which allows the baby to feel safe enough to then go out into the world, in increasing spurts, explore, and eventually create new bonds with others.

On my mornings off from school I would savor the time with my baby, and found that the moments during which I felt most in tune with him was when I was singing to him, he was singing back, and we were smiling at each other.

I felt compelled to share the music and the knowledge I had gained with other parents. Now, when parents tell me they are singing more with their baby and smiling more at each other as a result of my workshops and CD, I know that indeed all of my paths thus far have converged perfectly.

Thank you so much for the incredible experience of being in your class. As a new mom, so many of the things I was feeling were scary and overwhelming. Your songs and your words made me feel every week that they were not only normal and OK, but also a very special part of being a mom. The songs give me the opportunity to pause occasionally and recognize how magical my baby is, and how incredible a gift.

Thank you so much for the wonderful class. This is such a tender time for me (and all the Moms) and I really appreciated how supported I felt by your warm, thoughtful facilitation. It was also super helpful to get your expert thoughts and to hear from the other Moms too about shared experiences. Aaron and I both love your music.

From the moment I greet Julia each morning to our playtime and meal time and bathtime, right up until our last cuddle each evening, your music is in my head (and often coming out of my mouth, albeit off key! )

I hope my daughter will sing your songs to HER children some day. They are timeless and very special.

My husband and I have been so incredibly touched by the magical, sweet, honest and funny lyrics in your songs. No matter how grown my son becomes over the years, I will always look back on this time with incredibly fond and sweet memories of listening to your music.

There are many benefits to early music education in children including emotional development, early development of fine motor skills, socialization, and early recognition of rhythm and counting. Children who progress through the First Notes program are often ready to begin music lessons by 4 years old.

First Notes music education and performance programs impart important life skills and prepare children for success as parents, members of the community, and in fields such as the arts, science, education, medicine, engineering, politics, business, and law.

We love Miss Rachael because she makes music class fun. Miss Rachel not only teaches the origin of an artist or genre, but she includes motor skills, memorization, and really gets the parents involved as well.

In the third trimester, the baby will be definitely able to hear the music you play. Classical music, gentle sounds like lullabies, nice melodies that inspire happiness all are designed to be soothing.

We have learned about several mechanisms through which music impacts our ability to connect with one another by impacting brain circuits involved in empathy, trust and cooperation, perhaps explaining how it has survived in every culture of the world.

Dr. Ibrahim H. Baltagi is a lecturer at the Lebanese American University and serves as the head of the music program at the Lebanese International University. He has published a series of music books for children.

A good music festival experience for you and your baby will be picking a festival that has much more than just the dancefloor. Many festivals feature a special area for children, a Yoga zone, and an art corner.

I highly recommend you rent a van to make the festival experience more comfortable for yourself and your little one. (you can rent one for cheap). I saw a lot of people with rented vans at the music festivals that we went to. It is not expensive to rent vans and will be cheaper than buying all the extra camping gear for your baby.

Did you know you can get a Foldable camping bed for your baby? It folds up pretty small but opens up to a big and comfortable crib. It makes an amazing bed for your little one on the go! This bed is an excellent option for those who are thinking of sleeping in a tent with their baby. Just make sure your tent is large and high enough for this.

While writing this article, I asked my husband for his #1 tip for attending a music festival with a baby and he said to arrive early. Why? Well, it is a good idea to get your baby comfortable and used to the new festival environment before things start going crazy.

Managing food when your baby is on formula, drinking milk from a bottle or solids is a little more work. You will need to carry the food, bowls, spoons, bottles, sippies, and what not. You will also have to ensure everything is always clean and sterilized.

Most of the festivals have a place where you can buy fresh fruit, bread, milk, and cheese. Usually, 6+-month-old babies love bananas and 7+ months onward they love bread too. Even if your baby has just 1 or 2 teeth, they can eat and enjoy soft bread. Carry ready-to-eat or easy-to-make cereals that are specifically for babies. Buy the ones that you can just mix with hot water. TIP: Carry something that you know your baby loves to eat.

One parent or a close friend that you can trust should be with the baby at all times. Keep an eye on and make sure your baby is well-fed, hydrated, is wearing sun protection if needed, and is not cold or not hot.

It's never too early to start our music classes! You've probably already noticed how your baby responds when you play a song in the car or sing a song to soothe them. Developing your baby's natural musicality will open the door to a world of possibility, not only for music learning but for all learning.

The early months are so important to the learning process, which is why Music Together designed this class to help you every step of the way! Your Music Together teacher will show you how you can support your baby's music development through simple and fun activities. You'll learn lots of musical ways to connect with your little one, and you'll bond with the other new parents in your class, too!

I would like to be able to help more families make music together. When we are all together making music our sense of community will grow. Do you know a family or do you have a connection with your community that can reach out to families that would not be able to attend classes without assistance? Please text me at 508-838-9815 if you can help me to reach out! -Gwyn Valentine, Old Colony Music Together

Nothing really prepares you for parenting. It feels a bit like playing a game where the rules change constantly. For example, shortly after mastering the perfect origami-like swaddle, your child no longer needs it to sleep through the night. Or maybe you finally figured out how the straps on the stroller work but now your little one insists on crawling or walking everywhere. Sometimes, just when you think you got it figured out, it changes again. So how can baby music classes help? e24fc04721
