When they found out that my nephew was included in the no children rule; they tried to convince me to make an exception for him. Chris told me his son is a miracle baby and his presence at the wedding will bring "blessings" for me and my fiancee. I refused and said no, the wedding is childfree. His wife kept sending my fiancee pics of my nephew when he was months old (what that mean??). I told them no, and to stop.

My brother told me this might cause a rift in our relationship, I again said no and explained that the wedding is childfree. He asked again and pointed out how his baby is different since he's a rainbow, a miracle baby. I again said no and explained that the wedding is childfree. They brought it up when they visited at my home and I knew they weren't going to stop so I'd made flash cards in advance with the phrase "the wedding is childfree, period" and pulled them out and started slowly showing them the flash cards one by one in this order:

Hi, Natalie, und thank you for the inspiring post! I have some questions. What to do if my child does not follow? I have often the case that I start and after three cards I loose his attention and the eye contact? Do we always has to prepare the flash cards in red? I thought this is for the beginning and then you move to black. What is the best font and size to use if I prepare the cards on computer?

Thank you so much!

Hi Natalie,

Thank you for your answer! Well, the answer with the size came a bit too late. i already printed the cards in 100 and in red but 140 makes a huge difference so I think that I have to reprint them. May I ask one stupid question- if I use font 140 does this mean that I will print 3 words per A4 page? I am doing the cards on my computer and want to know what is best. I tried to print 4 on each page but I think it is not so good as there is no enough spare space above and below the word. What do you recomment? I read the comments above but as I am not in America, I cannot use them. Once again thank you so much!

Our baby flashcards are bright and colourful, durable and wipeable just perfect for little learners! They have been carefully designed to stimulate and entertaining your baby as well as nurturing their little minds.

An effective way of teaching your little one is to show them several sets of flash cards throughout the day. Child brain development specialist Dr. Glenn Doman, founder of The Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential, developed this teaching method.

* Practice fine motor skills

Fine motor skills are one of the important skills at a young age. Mastery of the small muscles in the hands is the precursor for good writing, cutting, and self-help skills. Some flashcard activities do double duty and help practice the fine motor skills as well!

2. Use your own body, like your Lap. Hold your baby across your lap and show the some high contrast images in front of your baby so she can see the images. You can help promote visual tracking by slowly moving an image back and forth horizontally in front of their face to help them practice following a moving object with their eyes. This is an important skill later for reading, writing, and hand-eye coordination.

By the time 6 months old, they are also generally believed to already have good colour vision. Their eyes are also capable of working together to form a three-dimensional view of the world and begin to see in-depth. You can expand the high contrast, simple black and white cards to cards with abstract shape with basic colors, then to concrete objects with various colors and to cards with numbers, alphabets, words etc.

The first thing that you need to remember before you start to introduce flashcards to your children is we need to keep the flashcard session fun and game-like. We must not push our children to read and put pressure on them.

Hello,

I am a teacher for DHH kids and I would love to have all 600 flash professionally printed as this would really help with vocabulary development. Is there any way of doing that? If not maybe a file that has all 600 words together to save some time and then I can print 4 on a page, cut and laminate them. It would be soooo very helpful for at least a file with all of them or chunked by the alphabet all the A words together, B words together etc.

please let me know what can be done. Thank you so much for creating this resource.

Hi! We bought the flash cards pack, and we love them! Thank you!

I see that on the website you have many more flash cards and I was wondering whether it is possible to purchase them in a similar format to the pack we already have.

Hi Inbal,

We currently only print the 52 card deck. Thank you for the great suggestion. We will keep you updated if we decide to sell other sets. In the interim we encourage you to enjoy all the free baby sign language resources available in digital version

ADMIN,

Dear Celine,

We are so glad you are enjoying your kit. Each child is different and each household prioritizes different words based on their daily interactions. Our dictionary and online flashcard collection has many free printables that you can add to your deck. Currently we do not have expanded sets. As soon as they become available we will post an announcement in our Facebook page.

My son is 5months old. We speak mostly English in our home. I want him to learn Spanish as well as sign language. When I sign to him, should I say the word in English and then in Spanish? or will this confuse him. Is he too young to start using the flash cards?

The downloadable flash cards are not very diverse. We would like to show more diversity in the flash cards as you suggest. One challenge is that we use a lot of stock photography, and stock photography is not particularly diverse. If you or anyone else has more diverse high quality imagery we can use, it would be greatly appreciated.

Check out our baby sign language basics section for lots of great information on getting started. But, in a nutshell, you are going to pick a handful of basic signs and give him lots of exposure to these signs in context.

I work with a very diverse population and am introducing many new moms to baby sign language. I found these flash cards to be help but it did amaze me that all the photos of people are of only one race ex. (flash cards of; girl, again, happy, grandmother, grandfather, daddy, happy, laugh, sad, mommy, kiss, quiet, excited. I think it would be even more beneficial if they were more reflective of the all the different people that may be using them.

We always welcoming submissions from our community. If you have a photo of little ones signing that will best represent your working group please send it our way and we will incorporate it in the flashcards. In the next few months we will be adding additional flashcards with representation for several cultural groups. We are glad you are here and appreciate your feedback and engagement.

I wanted to thank you for the flash card free download. I am a single mom and every little bit helps. Normally cards like this are priced $10 or $20. Your free baby sign language cards have been very useful as I bond with my baby girl.

Happy Little Doers creates educational flashcards, games & prints for kids that are designed to encourage children to reach their full potential by helping them discover their favourite way of learning through play. We also make the best flashcards for babies!

Make learning fun with 50 colorful, double-sided flash cards with realistic imagery. Learn about 4 categories of animals & their babies: farm animals, underwater animals, animals in the wild and birds.

Baby flash cards are large cards with big pictures, words, or numbers on them. Flash cards are ideal for infant stimulation, and they can be fascinating to many young children. They can be helpful in making learning a fun part of everyday play.

If flash cards are used correctly and your child reacts positively to them, they can help in many areas.

For toddlers they can improve cognitive development, increase awareness of the world around them, improve fine motor skills, stimulate independent thinking, and increase confidence.

For babies they are great for entertaining, distracting, increasing curiosity, improving focus and concentration, and aiding nervous system development.

Remember though, particularly regarding toddlers, that flash cards may not be for every child. Like adults, every child is unique, including in which learning style works best for them.

These sturdy cards are durable, matte laminated with rounded corners with distinctive woodland animals or woodland feature on one side and a sans serif letter on the other.

Q. Are they safe?

A. Yes, our sensory cards are crafted from high-quality, durable materials and are also rigorously tested for safety, ensuring they are free from harmful substances and safe for your baby to explore.

If you want smaller cards, I recommend using some of our game cards. The Lucky 13 cards (9 per page) and Boom! cards (8 per page) will both suit your purposes well, I think. Just ignore the numbers or graphics in the corners and focus on the words.

I printed the Pre-K Dolch list on 35 file cards, one to a page. The only thing for my printer is to print that size I have to manually feed the cards individually. With a little practice and no distractions I got them all done fairly easily.

Your Dolch pre k sight word list prints with lower case letters as they are printed in primers. But your flash card templates have standard letters as child is taught to write at school. Which should be used for learning the sight words? e24fc04721
