Edith: after Saint Edith Stein also known as St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. Edith was born Jewish, turned atheist, and had an intellectual conversion to Catholicism. She later died in Auschwitz concentration camp during WWII.
More about her life here: The Life of Edith Stein (2 min)
Michelle: after Servant of God, Michelle Duppong. Michelle was a college campus missionary and died from cancer in North Dakota on 2015 at the age of 31. The title "Servant of God" means that she is officially being considered as a canonized saint (!).
Here's a trailer of her newly released documentary: Trailer of Michelle Duppong Movie (2 min)
Here's access to her documentary: Radiating Joy: The Michelle Duppong Story (1 hour, 15 min)
So Edith Michelle, for us, literally means the need for intellectual conversion and the need to be missionary.
We have a special giveaway at the baptism with this in mind!
On Sunday, February 23, 2025, Mimi gave birth to our eighth child, Edith Michelle Aujero six weeks early via emergency C-section weighing 5 lbs, 14 oz.
Here's Matt's "We don't got this" reflection about the first four days of Edith's life, involving the ambulance, C-section, and NICU. Photos included.

Late Tuesday, March 5 they said there was a “possibility” Edi might come home soon. We thought we had at least one more week. Then Thursday, March 6, miraculously and surprisingly she did! Praise God!
Thank you for everyone's prayers! We wanted somewhere to put all the different ways to support our precious girl and family as so many have offered, thank you!
Edi brought gifts home to her siblings!
Thankful parents!
Thank you very much for your support, love, and prayers!
