The University of Warwick is pleased to host the 38th Colloquium of the British Association of Academic Phoneticians. The colloquium is organised by Applied Linguistics, part of the School of Education, Learning, and Communication Sciences.
Located at the southwest edge of Coventry and celebrating its 60-year anniversary in 2025, Warwick's beautiful campus will be a welcoming site for inspired conversations about the state of the art in British phonetics. Attendees will also be able to enjoy beautiful green spaces around campus, film and visual art in the Warwick Arts Centre, and direct bus links to nearby Coventry city centre, Kenilworth, and Royal Leamington Spa. Slightly farther afield are the towns of Warwick and Stratford-Upon-Avon, home to the Royal Shakespeare Company.
All BAAP presentations will take place in the award-winning and accessible Faculty of Arts Building located at the heart of our main campus.Â
Warwick has direct bus links to Coventry and Leamington Spa rail stations. Coventry is on the West Coast Main Line between London Euston and Birmingham New Street (with a station at Birmingham International Airport). Leamington is on the Chiltern Main Line between London Marylebone and Birmingham Moor Street. Attendees arriving at London-area airports can travel by coach to Pool Meadow Station in Coventry and then by direct bus to University of Warwick.
