Baala Veda ("we," "us," "our," "Baala Veda," "the App") is a cultural storytelling application for children and families ("Bachpan Se Bharat" — Childhood to India). This Privacy Policy explains what information the
App collects, how it is used, who it may be shared with, and the choices
and rights available to you.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Account and Profile Information
When you register or complete your profile, we collect:
- Parent/Guardian name
- Child's (student's) name
- Child's date of birth
- Gender
- City
- School name
- Class/grade
- Nationality
- Preferred language (e.g., Kannada or English)
- Email address
- Phone number and, optionally, an alternate phone number
1.2 Authentication Information
- A password (used for email/phone login), stored by our server in hashed form.
- A one-time password (OTP) sent to your phone number for OTP-based login. The OTP itself is not stored by the app after verification.
- A session token issued by our server after successful login, stored on your device to keep you signed in.
1.3 Subscription and Package Information
- Which content package(s) you are subscribed to, its type (trial, annual, campaign/free-access), start/end dates, and payment status
(pending or successful).
- If a payment is completed, an order ID, transaction ID, payment mode, discount applied, and final price may be recorded against your account for record-keeping and support purposes.
- We do not store your card, UPI, or net-banking details ourselves;
those are handled directly by our payment processor at the time a real payment integration is enabled.
1.4 Partner / Affiliate ("Sarathi") Program Information
If you apply to our Partner program, the form requests: full name, age, address, email, phone number, alternate phone number, Aadhaar number, PAN number, and a password. This is sensitive government-identity information collected solely to verify identity for affiliate partners. It is not collected from users who do not choose to apply to this program.
1.5 Contact, Sponsorship, and Partner Form Details
If you use our Contact Us, Sponsor-a-Child, or Partner forms, we collect the name, email, phone number, city/organisation, and message content you choose to enter.
1.6 Content and Usage Data
- Which story categories, sub-categories, and stories you view or play, to the extent needed to enforce your subscription package's access rights and to show you relevant content.
- In-app preferences such as playback speed, like/bookmark/download status for stories, which are currently kept only on your device for the duration of your session and are not persisted to our servers.
1.7 Device and Technical Information
Our servers, like any standard web server, may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address and request timestamps) when the App communicates with our API, for security and troubleshooting. The App itself does not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or precise/approximate location.
1.8 Information We Do NOT Currently Collect
As of this policy's last update, the App does not collect: photos, camera images, files from your device, voice/audio recordings, precise or approximate location, or advertising identifiers. Some screens in the App display icons suggesting these features (for example, a profile photo camera icon, a "share" icon, or a recitation upload prompt), but these features are not yet functional and no data of these types is transmitted from your device as a result of tapping them.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information described above to:
- Create and manage your account and your child's profile
- Authenticate you via password or OTP login
- Provide access to story content according to your subscribed package
- Process and verify subscription payments
- Issue completion certificates for finished story collections
- Respond to messages sent through our Contact Us form
- Review Partner program and Sponsor-a-Child applications
- Send account-related communications (for example, a welcome email after registration, or payment confirmation)
- Maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the App and our backend systems
- Comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations
We do not use your information to serve advertisements, and the App does not contain any advertising or ad-tracking technology.

3. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Baala Veda is designed for use by children under the guidance of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian creates the account and enters the child's information (name, date of birth, school, class, etc.) directly. We rely on the registering parent or guardian to review this Privacy Policy and to consent to the collection described here on their child's behalf, consistent with applicable children's privacy laws in your jurisdiction (such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and, where applicable, COPPA in the United States). We do not knowingly enable a child to create an account independently of a parent/guardian, and we do not display advertising to any user.
If you believe your child has provided personal information without your consent, contact us using the details in Section 10 and we will take appropriate steps to review and, where appropriate, delete that information.

4. STORAGE AND SECURITY

Your session token and a copy of your profile are stored locally on your device to keep you logged in between visits. Information sent between the App and our servers is transmitted over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. SENSITIVE IDENTITY INFORMATION (AADHAAR / PAN)

If you voluntarily apply to our Partner ("Sarathi") program, you may be asked to provide your Aadhaar number and PAN number for identity verification. This information is used solely for verifying your eligibility to participate in the Partner program, is not used for any other purpose, and is handled with heightened care in line with applicable Indian regulations governing identity documents. If you do not wish to provide this information, you may decline to apply to the Partner program; it is not required to use the core storytelling features of the App.

6. SHARING OF INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With our payment processor, solely to process and verify subscription payments
- With service providers who help us operate the App and our backend
(for example, hosting providers), under confidentiality obligations
- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Baala Veda, our users, or the public
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections
We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App may open your device's own phone dialer or email app when you tap a phone number or email address shown in the App (for example, on
our Terms, Privacy Policy, or Cancellation Policy screens); this simply hands off to apps you already have installed and does not send your information to us.
Audio playback of stories streams directly from our content servers. The App may occasionally run a short, silent-to-you diagnostic audio test using a generic public sample audio file, purely to confirm your device's speaker and network are working — this test does not involve any of your personal information. Once a live payment integration is enabled, payment processing will be handled by a licensed third-party payment gateway, which will have its own privacy practices governing the payment details you enter directly into its interface.

8. DATA RETENTION

We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal obligations (including tax and financial record-keeping requirements for completed transactions). You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information as described in Section 9.

9. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and your child
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information (via the Edit Profile screen in the App, or by contacting us)
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal information
- Withdraw consent for optional data (such as city, school, class, nationality, or preferred language), which will not affect your ability to use core App features
- Object to or restrict certain processing, where applicable law provides this right
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in
Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in
accordance with applicable law.

11. GOOGLE PLAY / APP STORE COMPLIANCE

This Privacy Policy is intended to satisfy the requirements of the Google Play Store's Developer Program Policies, including the Data Safety and Families Policy requirements, for an app of this nature. Because the App is designed for and used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian, we are committed to complying with applicable children's privacy laws and Google Play's Families Policy requirements.
This document must be hosted at a publicly accessible URL (not only displayed inside the App) in order to satisfy the Google Play Console
"Privacy Policy" requirement.
