o Group 2 – confident swimmers who want to enjoy the swim and take in the view as they swim along.
o Group 3 – for accompanied children, recreational swimmers and people who don’t want to be caught up in the frantic start.
Important safety notes about the swim:
Please do not attempt the swim if you are not fit and have not practiced in the sea. Safety cover is provided but swimmers participate at their own risk.
We have kayak support – if you are in difficulty the kayakers will throw you a flotation aid (noodle) to help you return to the beach or for the RIB to rescue you. Additionally, there will be two buoys as marked on the diagram.
PLEASE DO NOT grab the kayak as you could capsize it – you should not be swimming if you need this level of assistance.
The safety boats may ask struggling swimmers to leave the water. Please comply. Once asked to leave the water you will not be allowed to rejoin the swim
Please swim with care so you do not kick or bash any other swimmers.
We will not record swim times - the event is not a race.
Please swim directly to the finish near the boat club from the corner of the bay – this is to avoid people getting too close to the rocks.
PLEASE collect your ID after the swim so we know you are safe !!!!!!
Last but not least....enjoy the swim, it’s a beautiful bit of coastline!
TIMING
As the swim will be started in intervals between group 1, 2 & 3. It is recommended that those who would like to record their time that you do so yourself. A running clock will also be located at the finishing point for you to check.
