If you want a premium, American-made hitch with a seamless bed-clearance design for night driving and long-term reliability, choose B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball; if you need a heavy-duty, high-capacity solution specifically engineered for the 1999-2016 Ford Super Duty lineup with maximum towing capacity, choose ECOTRIC Gooseneck Trailer Hitch.
• B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball: Its greatest strength is the innovative turnover ball mechanism that clears the entire truck bed when not in use, paired with a limited lifetime warranty and American manufacturing; its trade-off is a lower gross weight rating compared to the ECOTRIC model and specific fitment limitations to Dodge and Ram trucks. This pick is for owners of 2003-2013 Dodge/Ram trucks who prioritize bed utility and domestic quality.
• This pick is for heavy haulers with 1999-2016 Ford F-250/F-350 trucks who need raw towing power over bed flexibility.
The B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball (GNRK1313) stands out immediately because of its mechanical ingenuity regarding how it sits in your truck bed. Unlike fixed hitches that leave a bulky metal base permanently obstructing your cargo area, this system features a ball that flips down into the bed when you aren't towing. When flipped up, it tucks away completely, allowing you to utilize the full length and width of your pickup bed for hauling lumber, ATVs, or camping gear without any permanent obstructions. This design philosophy speaks directly to the driver who uses their truck for two distinct purposes: serious towing on the highway and versatile hauling around town.
For the owner of a 2003-2009 Dodge 2500/3500 or a 2010-2012 Ram 2500/3500 Diesel (Non-Mega), this hitch offers a sense of security through its construction. It bolts directly to existing holes in the frame, meaning no drilling or welding is required during installation. This "bolt-on" simplicity suggests a robust connection that respects the factory integrity of the vehicle while adding immense towing capability. Perhaps most importantly, it is made in America and backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty, signaling a manufacturer confident in the longevity of their product.
However, this hitch is not a universal fit, nor is it built for the absolute highest limits of industrial hauling. It is strictly compatible with non-Mega models of the specified Dodge and Ram years, so if you have a Mega Cab or a different year range, this is not the right tool. Furthermore, while the build quality is exceptional, the gross weight ratings are lower than some competitors. If your primary goal is to tow the heaviest possible loads consistently every single day, the lower rating might be a constraint. But for the vast majority of recreational and light commercial users who value the ability to clear their bed completely, the B&W Turnoverball is a top-tier choice.

The ECOTRIC Gooseneck Trailer Hitch is built for a very specific demographic: the owner of a 1999-2016 Ford F-250 or F-350 Super Duty pickup who needs maximum towing capacity above all else. If you are regularly pulling large fifth-wheel campers, livestock trailers, or heavy equipment, this hitch provides the structural confidence needed for those loads.
The design focuses on durability and integration with the vehicle's suspension. It features a custom-fit under-bed mounting system that accommodates all standard vehicle suspensions without requiring alterations to the original equipment exhaust systems. This is a critical detail for Ford owners who don't want to compromise their factory plumbing or airflow. The hitch includes spring-loaded safety chain loops and comes with all necessary hardware and instructions, suggesting a complete package ready for installation. Constructed from high-quality steel with a black powder coating, it is designed to prevent rust and withstand harsh weather conditions, ensuring it lasts as long as the truck does.
There are trade-offs to consider with this beast of a hitch. This adds mass to the rear of the truck, which could slightly affect fuel economy or handling dynamics when not towing. Second, unlike the B&W model, the ECOTric does not feature a turnover ball that disappears into the bed. While it allows for full use of the bed area when the trailer is detached, the base remains in place. Additionally, it is strictly limited to the 1999-2016 Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty pickups and will not fit cab-and-chassis models. If you do not own one of these specific Ford trucks, this product is irrelevant to you.

After analyzing the specifications, I would personally choose the B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball for my own truck. While the ECOTRIC option offers higher weight ratings, the ability to completely clear the truck bed is a game-changer for anyone who uses their pickup for more than just towing. The turnover mechanism eliminates the hassle of maneuvering around a permanent base plate, and the fact that it is made in America with a lifetime warranty gives me a level of trust that generic imports often struggle to match. For night driving, having a clear bed means better visibility and less clutter, reducing the risk of shifting cargo interfering with your view or the hitch mechanism.
