I was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1989, and I received my bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees in Mathematics from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 2011, 2012, and 2015 respectively.
It was during my years at UFRJ that my interest in research in mathematics began. Today my main focus of research is Dynamical Systems, mainly hyperbolic dynamics and their interfaces with topological dynamics and fractal geometry.
From 2017 to 2024 I was an Assistant Professor at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG - Belo Horizonte, Brazil) teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and also had the opportunity to create and be the lead scientist of a research group with students, professors, colleagues, and co-authors.
The group became a successful project called Hyperbolic Dynamics, Topological Dynamics and Fractal Geometry and received Brazilian national funding from the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais (FAPEMIG), Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), and Coordenação de Aperfeiçamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes) which allowed the members of the group to go to conferences and meetings with other mathematicians so that, not only did our work together receive the collaboration and mentoring of other great mathematicians, but each member had the opportunity to develop their research.
Between 2018 and 2020 I lived with my family in Jena, Germany, where I worked with Professor Tobias Jäger at Friedrich Schiller University after winning the call from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Capes postdoctoral fellowship. During 2023 and 2024 we lived in Rome, working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Rome Tor Vergata with Professor Carlangelo Liverani.
Above all and most importantly, I'm also a family person, proudly married and a lucky father to three awesome kids. Here you can learn more about my research and my work and also read some comments from some of my students and co-authors. So if you want to talk about mathematics, swap research ideas, or know more about my work, contact me. My academic journey is just beginning.
Oh, I also can't forget that I play the piano in my free time and you can check the quality of it on my old YouTube channel (below I added my favorites). They are old videos but... have fun!
