Azer Agalarov was born in 1959 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR.
He studied music in his early years and later received medical education at the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute, graduating in 1982.
He began his professional career in Azerbaijan, working in emergency medical services and later in gastroenterology.
From the 1990s, Agalarov worked in journalism, including for the Azerbaijani Service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, with professional activity in Munich and Prague.
After relocating to Germany, he worked in the field of medical diagnostics in Munich, including at Diagnoseklinik München.
Alongside his medical and journalistic work, he developed creative projects in literature, music and film.
In later years, he has been involved in filmmaking, literary publications and cultural events in Azerbaijan and Germany.
