In English 11, students build advanced reading, writing, and critical thinking skills through the study of American literature and nonfiction texts. We focus on analyzing complex themes, evaluating arguments and rhetoric, conducting research, and crafting clear, well-supported writing. Students also engage in collaborative discussions and presentations to deepen understanding and strengthen communication skills.
In ELD 2, students continue developing their English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. We focus on building vocabulary, improving grammar, and understanding academic language across subjects. Students read a variety of texts, practice writing for different purposes, and engage in conversations to strengthen fluency and confidence in English.
In Link Crew, upperclassmen develop leadership, mentoring, and communication skills as they support freshmen in their transition to high school. Students learn how to build positive school culture through team-building, public speaking, planning events, and peer mentorship. The course focuses on collaboration, empathy, and leading by example to make all students feel connected and supported.
