Some feedback received each teaching semester:
"Azat always holds the TA time for us and gives us lots of practice. He always treats every student with patience. I appreciate his hard work in the whole semester!" (Fall 2020)
"Professor Nurmukhametov was an effective instructor and I would highly recommend him for future classes." (Fall 2021)
"I think Professor Nurmukhametov did a great job teaching this class as he was always prepared, explained everything clearly, and helped me further my understanding. The format of the class works really well with having pre-lecture modules and then going through the slideshows, as it gave some understanding in what we would be discussing in class. The review guides also were very helpful as I was able to practice and test my skills and knowledge, better preparing me for what I was going to be tested on later. I think that he is a very great person and I was never afraid to reach out and ask questions. He created a great environment and genuinely wanted every single one of us to succeed." (Spring 2022)
"Professor Nurmukhametov was a very caring teacher and made sure his students really got the course content and encouraged in class participation." (Fall 2022)
"Professor Azat was very kind and understanding when I needed extensions due to personal matters, illness, or simply overlooking assignments. He was quick to assist with any questions or concerns. He was very knowledgeable of the topic and always presented information in a clear, straight-forward, and simplified manner. His teaching was so effective I was able to help a friend at Radford understand their economics work (which was significantly more complicated, but I was still able to understand the concepts and apply my learning)." (Spring 2023)
"He was a fantastic professor, no complaints. Lots of mutual respect, he listened to his students, responded to emails quickly, and genuinely wanted his students to understand the material and do well in his class." (Summer 2023)
"Azat Nurmukhametov was one of the best instructors I've had at Virginia Tech so far. He obviously cared about the subject material, and he was just a nice guy. There was a time during the semester where I had to miss a couple of classes. I discussed with him and we were able to find a solution so that I wouldn't fall behind. I appreciated his flexibility, as it helped me during a busy time." (Fall 2023)
"I really liked him as a professor. You hear some horror stories over first-year classes, but he was super patient and understanding. He taught well and thoroughly, and you could tell he actually liked being there and wanted us to succeed. He made me more interested in economics as a whole, and I will be taking 2006 this fall." (Spring 2024)
