I have the right to refuse the commission request at any point in the process.
Commissions are nonrefundable unless I am unable to complete the work for reasons on my end.
Commissions may be cancelled before or after work has begun any reason, such as:
Poor communication from the commissioner (not responding to messages, dodging payment or clarification requests, ghosting during the process)
Rude behavior (harassment over progress, unrequested criticism, demanding faster turnaround despite established deadlines, etc)
Health Issues (burnout, illness, physical injury, mental or emotional health issues)
Client changing the parameters of the commission (requesting heavy edits that fundamentally change the nature of the work, demanding multiple rewrites or edits, demanding a substantial change to the length of the commission, changing characters or story elements once the commission has begun, etc)
I am the creator/writer of the commissioned work, but you are the owner/creator of the idea and Original Characters depicted in the work.
Writing commissions are not to be used for commercial work. If commercial usage is desired, additional terms and fees must be discussed and clearly defined ahead of time.
I have the right to post the completed works on my socials, portfolios, and other platforms as examples of commissions.
If given permission when filling out commission forms, I may post WIPs to socials.
If you repost or share commissions online, do not claim ownership or depict the writing as your own. Proper credits must be attributed to me, and tag me or link to my socials, portfolio, or website.
Do not commission pieces you intend to submit to schools, institutions, or work assignments. Work that is used for cheating or plagiarism will result in being blacklisted from future commissions. If you are in need of tutoring, advice, or writing assistance, consider reaching out to teachers during their office hours, signing up at campus writing centers, or requesting services through online tutoring programs like Purdue OWL (Online Writing Lab).
Absolutely no AI written or generated content is to be submitted as part of the commission, nor may the commission be used in any way to train or generate AI, NFTs, or other generative media. Any commissions or requests found to have been generated with, modified with, or revised/altered by AI during any stage of the process will be canceled without a refund.
Refunds: payment must be made upfront and at the requested times and be received before work on the commission begins. I may issue a refund if I am unable to complete the work due to a reason on my end. Breaking TOS for any reason (nagging, AI usage, intent to publish without credit or for commercial purposes, etc) will result in a canceled commission without refund. Please only commission me if you are able to pay the full price.
Please do not nag while a commission is being completed. If you have questions or concerns, please send inquiries in a polite and respectful manner. I am happy to provide WIPs and updates and will work in a timely manner, and will do my best to notify you if any significant delays occur. Nagging, badgering, or demanding for updates or increased progress will result in one warning before the commission is canceled without refund. Remember that writing takes time, and rushing the process will result in decreased quality.
Approximate timelines for project completion will be provided after the word count and commission details are provided by you. Rough estimation will be 3 weeks to 1 month after the commission is accepted for pieces 5,000 words or less with sufficient references and notes provided.
Additional references, notes, or information may be requested at any time. If I have questions regarding character details such as setting lore, backstory notes, etc., please try to keep answers straightforward (I do not need an in-depth history of the fantasy country their parents come from, for example, if it isn’t relevant to the character’s story being commissioned).
Delayed responses on the part of the commissioner will also delay the completion and delivery of the commission. Sufficient delay in responses will result in commission priority being passed to the next client.
Payment upfront based on estimated word count request. Additional fees may be incurred if the commission goes over the selected word count or if significant edits, changes, or additional sections/chapters are requested.
Payments will be through PayPal invoices.
Chargebacks or unauthroized payment disputes will result on a ban from future commissions. Please do not request a commission if you are unsure you will be able to pay.
Prices based on project length of 5,000 words or less. Due to the complexity and timeline of longer pieces, additional surcharges might be added to cover the additional planning, editing, and revising, or to cover commissions that go over the initial expected word length.
Short Piece: $25 per 500 words up to 5,000 words
Extended PIeces: $25 per 500 words up to 5,000 plus surcharge
+25% 5,000-10,000 words
+30% 10,000-15,000 words
+35% 15,000-20,000 words
Commissions are maxed out at 20,000 words. If you want to commission something longer, discussions on estimated length, timeline, and price are required.
