A term is a single part of a math expression.

3x+4−2y, there are three terms: 3x, 4,−2y.
"Like terms" are terms whose variables (and their powers such as the 2 in x2) are the same.
For example, in the expression
3p + 3p, both are the same
A coefficient number is multiplied by a variable in an expression.
For example, in the expression
5𝑥, 5 is the coefficient.
A variable symbol (usually a letter) represents a number we don't know yet.
For example, in the expression
x+2=5, 𝑥 is a variable.
