Ayodele A. Osisanwo is a Professor of Discourse Analysis and Pragmatics in the Department of English at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He obtained a PhD in English (Discourse Analysis) from the Department of English, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds the African Humanities Programme (AHP) Postdoctoral Fellowship of the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), New York, hosted at the School of Journalism, Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa (2015). He is a 2020 Grantee, AHP-ACLS Remote-mentorship with the Department of Linguistics, University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He holds the Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation’s Georg Forster Fellowship for Experienced Researchers, hosted at the Institute of English Studies, Leuphana Universität, Lüneburg, Germany (2022) and AvH’s Return Fellowship (2024-2025).
Prof. Osisanwo’s research interests are (critical) discourse analysis, media, terrorism and political discourses.
