I am a Civil and Environmental Engineer, researcher, program management professional, and author with an interdisciplinary career that bridges engineering, sustainability, geospatial sciences, literature, and environmental journalism. My work sits at the intersection of technical analysis, strategic coordination, and evidence-based storytelling.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Kingston University, London, UK (2015), graduating with First Class Honours. My undergraduate research focused on landslide identification and mitigation, contributing to structural and geotechnical approaches for disaster risk reduction.
I later completed an MSc in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka (2018), with a GPA of 3.81. My postgraduate research examined flood mitigation using GIS and Remote Sensing, and was subsequently published in the International Journal of Scientific and Engineering Research (IJSER). Both research trajectories are grounded in natural disaster analysis and environmental resilience.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sinhala Language at University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, where my postgraduate research focuses on Sinhala science fiction, exploring its literary evolution, speculative imagination, and socio-cultural dimensions.
To complement my academic foundation, I have completed professional certifications in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Project Management, Sustainable Design, Building Information Modelling (BIM) Management, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Urban Nature and Environmental Planning, Social Media Management, and Software Engineering.
Professionally, I have contributed to international green building certification systems such as LEED and BREEAM, alongside local sustainability frameworks. My experience spans sustainability assessments, life-cycle analysis, disaster management collaboration, high-rise construction exposure, technical reporting, tender documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Currently, I work within program management, leading and coordinating strategic initiatives that integrate environmental analysis, investigative methodologies, and structured project execution. In parallel, I engage in environmental journalism, translating complex environmental, geospatial, and policy-related information into accessible, evidence-based narratives.
Alongside my technical and managerial career, I am an award-winning author in Sinhala and English. I have published novels across historical fiction, young adult literature, and children’s fiction, and have received national recognition for poetry and fiction. My research interest in Sinhala science fiction reflects my broader commitment to connecting science, culture, and imagination.
I consider myself an interdisciplinary practitioner — equally grounded in structural resilience, spatial intelligence, sustainability systems, strategic leadership, and speculative storytelling. My work is driven by clarity, resilience, and purposeful creativity across both the built environment and the literary world.
