I recently conducted research for the UN Energy team. The research was focused on providing the UN-China platform with the preliminary basis for conducting their activities towards improving the growth of renewables in the global south country of Nigeria and Indonesia with lessons from China. We were tasked with producing a research paper and database that can be used as a guide for collaboration opportunities for the UN and China on sustainable energy. I led this research, identifying the critical parts of the research that need to be worked out. I wrote the outline with my teammates and also helped teammates with the literature review. Most of the data used were secondary. I also led the stakeholder engagement process and fed local knowledge of our focus country, Nigeria, to make the details of the research report very detailed and correct. In addition, I was responsible for proofreading the final report piece. This project resulted in research and analysis that supported strategic planning for developing the China-UN Platform. It gave solution-oriented recommendations on potential policy, market readiness, and investment opportunities for sustainable energy (energy access, energy efficiency, and renewable energy) in Nigeria.
