To stimulate interest in competitive mathematics, AY's Math Club has founded our very own math contest!
If you are struggling to clear a slot in your schedule to hunker down over a contest paper and do math, worry not! This contest was designed to be as convenient as possible, so that more AY Jackson students participate.
For starters, no sign-up is required whatsoever. Just submit your answers to the form provided during the contest! There will also be a link under the latest contest paper on the front page in case a contest is ongoing.
Additionally, this contest is a take home contest for you to pore over! This contest often lasts roughly 1-2 days and submissions end at 11:59PM on the due date, usually Friday the same week. The due dates will be on the contest paper to the left, and will also be written on the submission form.
The establishment of the contest is courtesy of Alan Zheng. The writing and conducting of the contest is thanks to the amazing executives of the Math Club.
I am the founder, main director, and the writer for most of the problems and solutions on the AYJMC before 2022.
I first began writing math contests seriously in the 9th grade, and from then on, I have gained tons of invaluable experience in problem solving. Some of my more notable results include a first place finish on the 2019 Pascal, a score of 93 on the 2021 Euclid contest, and a top-20 placing on the 2021 CSMC.
Aside from math, some of my hobbies include chess and fencing.
You can contact me at alanzheng334@gmail.com. I might not be available, as I will be at university.
I invested a lot of time and care back when I authored the AYJMC, and I hope that writing this contest will be as fun and rewarding for you all as it was for me!
