My research focuses on developing inclusive, efficient, and responsible machine learning and AI technologies, particularly for Burmese and other low-resource languages. Current research directions include:
Low-resource and multilingual natural language processing
Data-efficient adaptation and evaluation of language models
Burmese/Thai/Ethnic NLP datasets, benchmarks, and applications
Culturally aware and responsible generative AI
Medical, crisis, and social-impact NLP
AI performance engineering and efficient computing
Prospective undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to participate. Students may contribute through literature reviews, dataset development, model implementation, experiments, evaluation, and research paper preparation. A strong interest in machine learning, programming, or language technologies is encouraged; prior research experience is helpful but not required.
