Ayan Mukhopadhyay

I am a theoretical physicist specializing in quantum field theory and string theory. I am interested in a wide-range of fundamental questions.

Currently, I am Profesor Asociado at Instituto de Física, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile and also an Associate Professor on extraordinary leave from the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Previously I have worked at LPTHE (UPMC Sorbonne Universities Paris), Ecole Polytechnique Palaiseau, CEA-Saclay, CERN, CCTP and CCQCN at University of Crete and also at TU Vienna as a senior Lise-Meitner Fellow. I am also associated with two research centres at IIT Madras, namely the Centre for Strings, Gravitation and Cosmology, and the Centre for Operator Algebras, Geometry, Matter and Spacetime.

I take teaching passionately because it presents challenges for re-learning basic principles and opportunities for humble sharing of  knowledge with those who will shape our future.
