Located at the heart of the mountain, Hotland is composed largely of various arid vistas, from desiccated canyons to rivers of volcanic glass to entire lakes of lava. The CORE lies here, producing most of the power that fuels the Underground, and this is the sector of the kingdom that refines the raw materials that the rest produce.
The glowing jewel and capital of Hotland, its center of commerce and wealth. Most of the Underground’s well-to-do monsters dwelt here, along with the University of Monster Technologies and the entertainment industry. The gates were shut tight at the advent of the Hunger, and no one still living knows what transpired within. It lies silent, beyond its towering walls.
The location of the kingdom’s greatest minds, ceaseless in the pursuit of higher knowledge and the betterment of monsterkind. A husk of its former glory, occupied only by ghosts and shambling horrors; the Amalgams nest here, guarding the secrets of their creators.
Frisk’s original path through Hotland. Many stairwells, elevators, and tunnels climb along the outside of the massive machine that comprises the CORE, essential to its maintenance. Falling apart and abandoned but for monsters hoping to avoid those hunting them.
A retirement town for the oldest of the Underground’s monsters, as well as the location of the Underground’s mint and central banking system. Dragon owned, naturally. Nothing remains but long cooled pools of gold, dust, and rubble.
A small city cut from a river of volcanic glass, well known for their skill with and production of glass items such as windows, vases, and fine statuary. Empty. The hot wind whistles through the obsidian houses hauntingly, singing a dirgelike tune. Something unnamed sings along with it.
A legendary township carved into the sides of the red stone cliffs, populated by the lizard kin and crisscrossed by many narrow bridges. A river of lava flows beneath, and in its prime, it produced the finest woven fibers in the kingdom, aided by the spiderfolk of the Labyrinthine Caverns. The remains of the Royal Guard stand watch here, given perfect vantage of all roads within Hotland from its peaks.
A village set on the edge of a lake of molten rock, the erstwhile home of many fire and plasma elementals. Much lies within the confines of the lake, and what lies beneath the surface is a well kept secret among its denizens. If any elementals still survive, they dwell beneath the surface, and do not come out.

The largest hotel in the Underground, located at the foot of the CORE engine and rising a monumental 34 stories high, complete with restaurants, bars, casino floors, mysterious and disappearing hallways, large pools, and a fabulous and gracious host. Mettaton attempted to house and assist those fleeing the Hunger here, but the resort was overrun as the panic grew, and was stripped of all amenities before being left to rot. One being still resides here. With the right offering, he may reveal himself… whether that is a good or bad thing has yet to be determined.
A gargantuan geothermal energy converter, the source of most of the Underground’s electrical power, and Gaster’s greatest achievement. Falling apart due to damage, disrepair, and age, its halls are haunted by the remains of what used to be the Underground’s shining star, and a few other, hidden dangers
The nuclear powered engine that runs the entire CORE. Close to catastrophic meltdown due to damage and lack of maintenance.
