About AWSiM 2024
The Arizona Women’s Symposium in Mathematics (AWSiM) will take place on September 20th and 21st 2024 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. This weekend-long conference will be the third of its kind in Arizona where women mathematicians across the state will have the opportunity to:
Learn about research done by other women mathematicians in Arizona
Share their research in a supportive environment
Form a strong network of women mathematicians within the state
The AWSiM conference will have a student poster session (Friday), two one-hour-long plenary talks (Friday & Saturday), one workshop (Saturday), several concurrent contributed talk sessions, and a networking session during lunch.
Registration
Registration is required for all participants. Please fill out the following registration form by September 10th 2024.
Registration fees for two days (Friday and Saturday) is $35 and includes Friday dinner, and Saturday breakfast, and lunch.
Registration for one day (Friday or Saturday) is $25 and includes the meals for the chosen day.
Registration is $50 + fees after September 10th.
Funding Availability
Funding to cover for one night of lodging is available for a limited number of participants. Students, recent Ph.D.'s, women, nonbinary individuals, and members of underrepresented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply for funding. Preference for conference funding will be given to student presenters, but everyone is encouraged to apply.

Present a Contributed Talk or Poster
If you would like to present a poster on Friday or give a contributed talk on Saturday, please fill out the submission form by July 21st 2024. All fields of mathematics, statistics, data science, and mathematics education are welcome. Preference for posters and contributed talks will go to those who identify as women or nonbinary. Note: presenters and co-presenters must also register for the conference.
