I love diversity in my work so I like to wear a lot of hats. Animation, Set and Costume Design, Photography. Each workflow gives me variety and different perspectives on projects. Not only that, but I get to meet a wide range of people and make new connections.
Pursuing Photography, and crafting random things on the side, led me to Production Design in film. I couldn't be more greatful for my descision to jump into a world I never knew because "it kinda combines what I like" I wouldn't have thrived in any other field as much as I do with film.
I have been doing photography for over 10 years and Film for 5. It's been a dream having hobbies I love and turn into something I can share with people.
Now with workflows everyone works differently. As people should, I take pride in my work ethic and styles. I like to say I do things a bit differently than others.
In short, I show up, I am present, I do the work. I put in the hours whether it's organizing Pre-Prod, Editing Photos, or what ever the project needs.
Communication is key to working with others.
A lot of photographers charge by the hour AND the photo count. No one wants to spend hours at a computer culling through hundreds of photos. Except I do, I ADORE that. On set, shoots, or whatever the occassion I will shoot as many photos as I can for the full shoot. I'll stay the full scheduled time and leave with thousands of photos, finding the best ones and returning them to the client, happy with plenty of content for their endeavors.
On the other hand PD is all about style! Why hire a Production Designer? To get your images out of your brain and in real life without the stress of planning every little detail. Leave that stress to me! Fabric colors, flower arrangements, key props, fake weapons, sfx make-up. Let me and my team take care of your vision and bring a story to life.
I love a dirty color driven set, leaving room for characters to live and breathe in a natural feeling space.
What even is art? Should it reflect you? Make people feel things? Be messy? Doesn't matter! That's why its art, there's no rhyme or reason, it just is. Now if it does any of those other things, bonus points to the creative, but art becomes whatever it becomes.
