The American Wine Society, Sussex State Fair Chapter is an informal group of individuals of all ages 21+ who meet regularly  to learn about and taste some really great wines, enjoy the company of fellow wine lovers and partake in some light fare. 

We typically meet on the fourth Friday of each month at the Sussex County Fairgrounds Administrative building located at 37 Plains Rd, Augusta.

Attendance fee is generally $20 for AWS members and $25 for all others.  Some special events are priced higher.

We do require an RSVP in order to insure adequate food and wine.

There’s always more to learn about wine

We are passionate wine explorers—both beginner and expert—who believe wine discovery is a fun and lifelong adventure that should be shared. Our more than 6,000 members are largely wine consumers, but also amateur and professional winemakers; chefs, restaurateurs and foodies; educators and students; journalists; wine suppliers and wineries.

We quench our thirst for wine knowledge through local tastings—there are over 180 American Wine Society chapters across the United States, and through regional and national wine events and formal training and wine courses. Each event is an opportunity to make new friends, share a glass of wine and learn about the history, culture and traditions involved in making and drinking wine.
