Emma (a white girl) & Josh (a black boy) learn that a white police officer has shot and killed a Black man in their neighborhood. They talk with their parents who explain why this happened and what they can do about it; stand up for others being treated unfairly, and break discriminatory patterns of racial prejudice. It is recommended that children read this book first with their caring adult.
