The Actor Wellbeing Facilitators Collective (AWFC) grew from a five-part webinar series hosted in 2023/24 by the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA). It was produced/curated and moderated by Alan Powell and Dr. Mark Seton. The webinar series brought together practitioners, educators, researchers, actors & therapists from across the globe to discuss the various aspects of actor wellbeing, i.e. in lifestyle, production work, training & research. When the webinar series ended, the panelists were invited by Mark and Alan to continue the conversation and the Actor Wellbeing Facilitators Collective was born. With ongoing admin assistance from Pat O’Toole, and a small team of volunteers, we continue to grow globally. Our community enables connection, collaboration, and an exchange of knowledge/experiences/skills that support the paradigm shift we all want to see.
As a member, there are many ways in which you can participate in the community. The online member profiles is one way of getting to know others and connect over mutual passions/goals. You are also welcome to get involved in our current initiatives. If you’d like to present or build a panel around a specific wellbeing topic or want to demonstrate your practice in a workshop you can do that too. You also have access to our past presentations in our Archives.
The AWFC operates with the generous assistance of volunteers. If you want to get involved, join us. You can decide what your commitment will be. We have ideas that could use some people hours to execute. Or maybe you have some ideas for community partnerships that you’d like to initiate? Get in touch with those members you think can make it happen with you.
The purpose and the fortunate position of the AWFC is that there is strength in numbers. With our international community of support, global and local initiatives are within reach!
