Our mission is to guide high schoolers into the real world by providing windows into a variety of career paths and pursuits from professionals in the workforce.
Awesome Occupations was started by three high school students from Maryland who realized that their knowledge of different career paths were limited, and two of us were stumped by the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" After asking around, we realized that most of our peers were in the same boat, and all three of our schools provide little to no career insight for high school students. So, we decided to reach out to professionals we knew and create our own little career program to help people like us. Hopefully through presentations and talks, students can discover interests and possible career options for the future.
Each week, we will have at least one new presentation in a different career field for students to participate in. Attending these talks are 100% free of charge and will last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on the number of speakers and questions. If you are interested, please see below.
Students can click here to sign up to join a Zoom and learn about various career choices. By signing up, you are not committing yourself to attending Zooms, so you can drop by whenever you'd like!
Email our outreach coordinator, Stephanie, if you would like to give a talk or have questions! Our audience is a group of engaged and curious high school students who would love career insight from qualified professionals! Contacting us is in no way committing yourself to a giving a presentation or talk. Click here.
