WHY WE MARCH?

"Traumatic experiences can impact learning, behavior and relationships at school." - traumasensitiveschools.org

Racism, against minority groups, creates long-term psychological and emotional trauma in the lives of youth and adults, alike. A.W.A.R.Eness March 2020 aims to build bridges of HOPE and tear down barriers of RACISM.

March Sign Up!

On May 25, 2020 the inhumane killing of George Floyd, a 46 year old Minneapolis resident, rocked the nation. Video footage was released and the world witnessed a white police officer kneeling on a Black man's neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, causing his death.

Since then there have been global protests to speak out against police brutality and the killing of Black men and women.

A.W.A.R.Eness March 2020 will make a public stand with BLACK LIVES and declare that we will not allow racism and injustice to infiltrate and destroy our neighbordhoods and schools.
