AwareAlarm ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how AwareAlarm handles your information when you use our mobile application.
A. Location Data
Precise and Approximate Location: To calculate dynamic morning wake-up times based on live traffic and route conditions, AwareAlarm accesses your device's approximate and precise location.
Ephemeral Processing: Your location coordinates are used strictly in real time to query route travel durations. We do not track your location history, build behavioral profiles, or store your coordinates on any external remote server.
B. Local Alarm and Destination Data
Destination addresses, travel preferences, and alarm times configured in the app are stored exclusively on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your device except when resolving destination coordinates and route estimates via navigation APIs.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. To provide commute-based alarm calculation, the app interacts with the following third-party provider:
Google Cloud Platform / Google Maps Platform (Routes & Places APIs):
Origin and destination coordinates are transmitted securely over HTTPS to calculate route durations, distance, and live traffic delays. This data is handled in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
AwareAlarm requests permissions solely to deliver its core alarm and commute features:
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM: Essential to trigger wake-up alarms at the precise scheduled minute, including dynamically adjusted times based on traffic conditions.
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Required to determine your departure point and evaluate route travel times to your scheduled destination.
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT & WAKE_LOCK: Enables the incoming alarm screen to wake the display and overlay the lock screen so you can dismiss or snooze an active alarm.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Ensures your scheduled alarms are automatically restored if your device reboots.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to display ongoing alarm status and timely commute alerts.
No Remote Account Storage: We do not maintain user accounts or host central databases storing user profiles. All alarms and saved locations remain stored locally on your device.
Data Deletion: You can delete all saved alarms, destinations, and settings at any time by clearing the application cache and storage via Android Settings or by uninstalling the application.
AwareAlarm Alarms is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any revisions will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
