A Centre for Water Resources Engineering started functioning as an interdisciplinary group in R&D activities in June, 1983. From its formation, the Centre was associated with the Departments of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering and Geological Sciences. It was attached to the Hydraulics and Fluid Engineering specialization of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The Centre was transformed into a School in 1987. It has received recognition from both the UGC, MHRD and AICTE. The School has been offering a “Four Semester Master of Engineering” course in “Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering” at Post-graduate level sanctioned by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) with an intake capacity of 28 students (Gate : 22 , Sponsored : 6) per year and a “Six Semester Master of Engineering” course in “Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering” at Post-graduate level sanctioned by AICTE with an intake capacity of 28 students per year. The School of Water Resources Engineering, Jadavpur University has been awarded by the Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure in Universities and Higher Educational Institutions (FIST) Programme of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The School has national & international links with different renowned universities & research organizations as regards to collaborative programme. The School has already carried out a number of consultancy projects with different Government & public organizations, in addition to the research projects in the laboratory as well as in the field. Jadavpur University is a State University founded on 24 December 1955 under the Jadavpur University Act (West Bengal Act XXXIII of 1955). Originating in the anti-colonial National Council of Education, Bengal (1906) to “achieve self-reliance through the empowerment of youth by imparting the best of global knowledge, technical education, and awareness of social, cultural, political, economic realities of the state, the nation and the world” the university has consistently set new frontiers in science, technology, humanities and social science innovation and outreach; it has provided research and policy support for state and national governments and international bodies, and conventional and non-conventional technological development for society at large, including both established industries and disadvantaged groups, through innovation and adaptation.
Jadavpur University is one of the first five Universities of India with potential for excellence conferred by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the University with “Five Star” status. It is the first Indian University to earn SYLEF status from Nippon Foundation, Japan. The excellence is reflected through its rankings as 9th among universities, 1st among state universities, and 18th in engineering in the NIRF 2025 rankings. The University offers Graduation and Masters Degrees in 12 disciplines in the Faculty of Arts, 6 in the Science and 17 in Engineering & Technology. In addition to these basic regular courses, Jadavpur University has a number of Schools and Centres of Advance Studies providing postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral level research programmes in 36 interdisciplinary and emerging disciplines. Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished research and recent developments related to the conference topics.
All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by the Technical Reviewer Committee.
Accepted and registered high-quality papers will be published by Springer Water.
Remaining registered full length papers will be published in the Conference proceedings with ISBN.

In addition to technical papers, there shall be keynote addresses and plenary talks.
• Accommodation in the guest house of Jadavpur University is limited and booking of rooms could be made available to the registered delegates on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Organizers will extend the necessary assistance in securing suitable accommodation in nearby hotels on request by the registered delegates well in advance.
• The charges are to be borne by the delegates.
• Most of the trains terminate at Howrah & Sealdah, which are 16 & 9 km away from Jadavpur University, respectively. The nearest Airport is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Dum Dum, which is 28 km away from Jadavpur University Main Campus.
An industrial exhibition may be arranged during the conference. The interested industries willing to participate in the exhibition are requested to contact the Organizing Secretary for space requirements and charges.
A panel discussion by eminent experts on “Policy Issues on Water and Wastewater Management” may be organized during the conference.
A souvenir containing messages from eminent personalities and abstracts of technical papers and/or invited lecturers will be brought out. This souvenir will be given wide publicity through large-scale distribution. Advertisements are invited from industries and other establishments for inclusion in the souvenir.
