Mission Statement

We exist to awaken hearts and lives to the transforming love of Jesus Christ, through Spirit-filled Worship, Biblical Truth, and Holy living. Awake Church exists to pursue Christ wholeheartedly, making disciples who reflect the heart of God through love, holiness, and service.

Micah 6:8 NIV He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Vision Statement

We are always becoming a Church fully awake to God's presence, boldly living His purpose, and reaching our community with His grace. We strive to be a community shaped by God's own heart, empowered by His Spirit, and committed to multiplying disciples.

Our Story

At Awake, we are learning to live fully awake to God’s presence—seeking His heart, following His Word, and walking in the way of Christ. We’re a Wesleyan Church in Zephyrhills, Florida, built on a foundation of Scripture, community, and Spirit-led transformation. Our desire is to know Jesus deeply, love others well, and become a people who reflect God’s heart in everyday life. Whether you visit in person or join us online, we invite you to journey with us in faith, hope, and holiness.

Awake is a Wesleyan Church located in Zephyrhills Florida United Sates. As such, we uphold the belief system of the Wesleyan Denomination. Homosexuality

The Wesleyan Church does not condone inappropriate behaviours towards people in the LGBTQ+ Community, nor does it align with openly accepting Homosexuality.

Sanctitiy of Life

The Wesleyan Church believes that all lives are sacred, and should be treated as such always and for everyone.

Refugees

The Wesleyan Church believes you should politely work to aid refugees, and take care of those you can.

Domestic Violence

The Wesleyan Church believes that domestic violence is a sin, in many forms, and is not to be tolerated.

Gender Identity and Expression

The Wesleyan Church believes in the two genders created by God, male and female.

Racial Reconciliation

The Wesleyan Church believes in the call in every race and does not allow any space for discrimination.

Women in Ministry

The Wesleyan Church believes that women can and should serve in all areas of leadership within the Church.

Global Poverty

The Wesleyan Church believes you are to do what you can to help with poverty in the capacity that you and your Church can.

Immigration

The Wesleyan Church sees immigration as a way to do outreach and help people other than themselves.

Creation

The Wesleyan Church believe that God created the Heavens and the Earth, and that it is our job to take good care of the Earth.

Wesleyan Articles of Religion

BIBLICAL AUTHORITY: The Bible is God’s holy Word. It uniquely and infallibly reveals God’s plan for His people and how to live out that plan, individually and corporately. Beliefs, practices, priorities, and our mission are to be anchored in clear biblical teachings.

CHRISTLIKENESS: Jesus Christ is the defining feature of God’s will and relationship with all humankind. In Christ is found both newness of life and the highest and clearest example for godliness. People made new in Christ find Him to be the source of faith, hope, and love in both the inner life and in our outward actions engaging a world desperate for hope and life.

DISCIPLE-MAKING: Making disciples is a clear mandate from Christ. This requires a strong missional focus on evangelism and training in spiritual growth and holy living. Done effectively, this will produce and promote growth and health in and among the churches.

LOCAL CHURCH CENTERED: The denomination exists to help local congregations grow and multiply, be more healthy, and more authentically reflect God’s plan. Local churches are the most fundamental and strategic points of evangelism and discipleship. The challenge of the denomination is to keep finding the best ways to serve, strengthen, and multiply congregations.

SERVANT LEADERSHIP: Wesleyans respect leadership that is placed over them, while realizing that the authority and effectiveness of spiritual leadership is not primarily bestowed, but earned, and is characterized by a loving and willing heart of obedience that serves God and mankind gladly. Wesleyans desire to be leaders in serving.

UNITY IN DIVERSITY: There is intrinsic value in every person. Biblical unity becomes all the more important and beautiful in the light of the wide-ranging differences in personalities, cultures, races, languages, talents, and perspectives. Finding unity and mutual love in Christ eliminates devaluation and deprivation of life to one another.
