Coach Downing graduated from Apple Valley High School in 1995. He went on to play football at Victor Valley Community College. Coach completed his Bachelors Degree in Biology from Western Governors University. He is a Physical Education Teacher at AVHS. He is married to Elizabeth Downing. They have four children: Nicole, Nathan, Evan, and Emily.

Evan is a proud members of the Sundevils Football program, he is a junior.

Coach Sandoval graduated from Apple Valley High School in 2007. He continued his football career at Victor Valley College from 2007-2009. He then transferred to the University of Redlands and played O-Line for a Year. He has his Bachelors Degree in Psychology, and teaches in the Science Department at AVHS.nt at AVHS

Coach Morales is another proud graduate of AVHS, from the Class of 2007. He went on to play offensive line at Victor Valley Community College from 2007 2009. He then attended the University of Redlands before transferring to Tabor College in Kansas to finish his undergraduate degree in Social Science. While there, he played football, and assisted on the Tabor coaching staff. He completed his graduate degree with Masters in Special Education, and his teaching credential at Azusa Pacific University. Morales is a member of the Apple Valley High School teaching staff. He is close to his family: parent Hector and Carol, and siblings Eddie and Krystal. Anthony has two sons: Tony & Luca.

Coach Widener is an AVHS Alumni class of 1985. He continued his education, and played football for the Riverside City College Tigers in 1985 and 1986. Coach has been happily married to his wife Amy (Sundevil Class of ’89) for 28 years. They have 2 children, Zoee (Sundevil Class 2015/ Univ of San Francisco Class ‘18, Graduating Cum Laude) and Jeff (Sundevil class 2019/ Current NAU Lumberjack QB, Class ‘23). Sundevil PRIDE runs deep in the Widener Family.

Coach Celie is another proud graduate of AHVS, Class of 2000. He played football and wrestled for the Sundevils. He is married to Kristin Celie, a graduate of AVHS as well, and current Athletic Director. They have two children: Rylee and Noah. Rylee is attending CSUSB. Noah is a current member of the varsity football team, a quarterback..

Coach Gilmer gradutated fron AVHS in 2007. He then went on to play college soccer at Yavapai College in Arizona. He has one son, Clayton.
