Avril Caron graduated from the Université de Montréal in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received a Visual Arts degree from Cégep du Vieux Montréal in 2001. Avril's education and appreciation for the arts has been strongly influenced by her mother whom she accompanied to university art classes from the age of 10 years old.
By working as a henna painter in the famous Old Montreal neighborhood Avril earned enough money to serve as a full time missionary. During this time she was diagnosed with a degenerative disease that left her in chronic pain and with no hope of recovery. In this intense period her paintings became colorful, strong, and full of faith. The painted illusions became a reality when she was miraculously healed. Since then Avril has devoted her work to testifying of God's power and love.
Avril's figurative paintings employ a unique and expressive use of color, form and dancing lines. Her accomplishments include the Prix d'Excellence for Bachelor's degree, collaborative exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and 3 book illustrations. She currently lives and works in Metro Detroit, Michigan.
