Review of the AVL Tutorial .mov

Congratulations on completing this interactive tutorial on the Alabama Virtual Library! At one point the AVL required a specific card number for access, but now the site is geoauthenticated. This means that any person within Alabama state lines can access the AVL without having to log in. Sometimes citizens who are at the far corners of the state are prompted to log in because their internet is coming from a location outside of Alabama, but the friendly folks at the AVL Helpdesk can fix this - or any other issue you have with the AVL - in a jiffy. Simply contact them at any of the methods listed here on the AVL website.

Just as the AVL was created in response to concerns from Alabama citizens, its future is also in the hands of Alabamians. You can support the AVL by using it, by becoming a trainer (go here to express your interest in becoming a trainer), and by letting your legislators know that we need increased or at least sustained funding for this resource. The AVL Council is constantly reviewing new databases that we would like to add to the collection, but these decisions are always determined by funding. Our advocacy materials can be found on this page. Click here to locate and contact your senators and representatives in favor of the Alabama Virtual Library!
