Link in the Chain
Link in the Chain
Introduction
In my childhood, my parents, Ze’ev and Mina, enriched me with stories and information about our family, many of my great-grandfathers and great-grandmothers: Elterman and Getz. I do not remember the names of my great-grandmothers. In 2010, I participated in a world gathering of descendants of Latvian Judaism from around the globe, and we toured Riga and Liepāja.
My motto is that our family is a link in a chain, and with this documentation, I wish to help connect the links.
In 2020, I traveled with Limor, my eldest granddaughter, on a journey to discover our roots. I wanted her to get to know the previous generations. During the journey, I came to a deeper understanding of how large our family could have been. Elena, a local guide, led us through Riga, Daugavpils, and Subate.
This year, 2025, I embarked on another journey with Vered, my daughter, and Amnon, my son-in-law. This website is the result of the preparation and the visit.
Here you will find:
Photos of the family from my parents, albums, photos from the journeys, family trees, my memories, and more.
I hope that future generations will build on the meaning of our family.
