A distinguished academic leader and a globally recognized scholar, I am deeply committed to advancing management education, fostering cutting-edge research, and building world-class institutions. As Professor, Chairperson - Research & Publications, and Program Head of PhD and Executive PhD at IIM Bodh Gaya, my leadership is driven by a strategic vision for academic excellence, institutional growth, and the development of future leaders who can navigate the complexities of the global economy.
My leadership philosophy is centered on creating an ecosystem where rigorous research, innovative pedagogy, and meaningful industry engagement converge. At IIM Bodh Gaya, I have been instrumental in shaping the institute's research agenda and doctoral programs. As Program Head of the PhD and Executive PhD, I have been responsible for the strategic development of these flagship programs, ensuring they meet the highest academic standards and remain relevant to contemporary industry and policy challenges. I also serve as Chairperson of the Area of Economics and Business Environment, where I guide faculty development, curriculum innovation, and foster a collaborative research culture.
My leadership is defined by a commitment to building world-class institutions and nurturing the next generation of scholars. I have been a CEENRG Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, UK, and hold research affiliations with institutions in Russia, Vietnam, and Malaysia, reflecting my global academic network and collaborative approach. I have served as a Research Mentor for faculty members across multiple campuses, as a member of the Institutional Ethics Committee and Grievance Redressal Cell, and have handled critical standards in AACSB accreditation teams, demonstrating my ability to navigate complex institutional governance and quality assurance frameworks.
A cornerstone of my leadership is my unwavering commitment to advancing the frontiers of knowledge. I am a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate™ (2020, 2022, 2023) and have been consistently ranked among the World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University, holding the number 1 position in India among Economists. My extensive research portfolio, with over 185 refereed journal articles in top-tier international journals—including more than 100 in ABDC-A/A* journals and 80+ in Scopus Q1/Q2 journals—reflects a dedication to producing impactful scholarship. My editorial leadership as Senior Editor, Co-Editor, and Associate Editor for numerous prestigious journals reflects my commitment to shaping global academic discourse. I am the author/editor of three books and have successfully secured competitive research grants from national and international bodies, including ICSSR and ERIA.
Beyond academia, I have demonstrated my ability to build institutional capacity, contribute to policy discourse, and translate research into practice. I have supervised and evaluated doctoral candidates globally and have delivered keynote addresses and chaired sessions at major international conferences. My administrative experience includes significant contributions to the development of doctoral programs, curriculum reform, and institutional accreditation processes.
My career has been dedicated to academic leadership, a global research reputation, and the ability to build institutional capacity, combining strategic foresight with operational excellence. I have demonstrated the ability to lead by example, inspire faculty and students, and contribute to the overall development of premier institutes where I have worked.
My most recent research projects are in the areas of energy transition, financial stability, environmental economics, sustainable development, and policy analysis. At IIM Bodh Gaya, I am committed to expanding the research footprint, enhancing the institute's global ranking, and creating an ecosystem where rigorous scholarship and innovative pedagogy thrive, preparing students and scholars to address the complex challenges of the 21st century.
