Welcome! I am Avijit Dutta, an Assistant Professor at Institute for Advancing Intelligence, TCG CREST and Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR). Prior to joining TCG CREST as an Assistant Professor, I was a post-doctoral scholar of the institute. I obtained Ph.D in Computer Science in 2020 from the Applied Statistics Unit of Indian Statistical Institute, where I was supervised by Prof. Mridul Nandi in the area of Provable Security of Symmetric Key Cryptography. Prior to that, I completed my graduation and post-graduation in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology and Jadavpur University in 2011 and 2014 respectively. I have also spent a year (2011-2012) in Cognizant Technology Solutions India Pvt Ltd as a software engineer. During my doctoral tenure, I spent two and a half months in NTT Lab, Japan. I spent four months (Aug, 2019-Dec, 2019) in DAIICT, Gandhinagar as an Assistant Professor. I was also a visiting scientist in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur from April, 2020 – August, 2020.
My present research interests primarily includes the design and analysis of symmetric cryptographic schemes. I also work in designing symmetric searchable encryption schemes and Lattice based cryptography. I am also interested in cryptanalysis of symmetric key ciphers, blockchains and quantum-symmetric key cryptography.
