AVID students typically have one teacher that they follow over all 4 years of high school. The elective class focuses on 5 main skills, known as WICOR: Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading. In addition to taking AVID classes at Franklin, students will:
Attend at least 2 college campus visits each year
Participate in regular team and community-building activities
Practice with note-taking and organizational strategies, including using a binder and planners/agendas
Get support with preparing for the SAT and ACT exams
Research different colleges and explore post-high school options
