French Honors Society is a national organization that seeks to spread the influence of French language and culture. The organization has many high school chapters across the country and is sponsored by AATF (American Association of Teachers of French).
Club members are able to be officially inducted in the honors society by fulfilling several eligibility requirements.
Completing six service hours contributing to the society
Be a student in grades 9-12
Students must be currently enrolled in a French class
Students who are not currently enrolled in a French class must have taken at least the level IV course to remain in the society.
Students must have a B average (3.0 GPA unweighted) in all other classes during the semester of the selection.
Students must not have been suspended, found to have cheated or plagiarized, or had detentions in the academic year of application.
*Participants are also able to be present members of the club while not being inducted into the honors society.
